Originally set for a different date, the date was moved to alleviate expected attendance for original date.
If you are in the know, you already know that the first Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo has moved from May 11th to May 4th. I wasn’t in the details, but if you want a great review of what went down see Colin Campbell’s article in the News & Observer.
I was kind of amazed how quick this story traveled, since it was only yesterday before lunch my heart dropped that May’s rodeo could be in jeopardy. During the day, Guy at Raleigh Food Truck seemed really calm (at least by social media) and already had alternative plans. The good news is we still have a rodeo in the same location everyone is accustomed with. Also, I was surprised to hear people around Deli-icious on Tuesday already heard of the date’s controversy.
If you haven’t heard about it yet, this year’s series is organizing a Kickstarter. I have no affiliation with the rodeo other than begin a fan of food trucks and the culture around it. The Kickstarter is using funds to pay for infrastructure to help kick the event off. The Kickstarter is ending soon on April 10th (and must be fully funded to keep funds!)
Dates for the Rodeo are:
Sunday, May 4th, 2014 – 1pm-6pm
Sunday, June 8. 2014 – 1pm-6pm
Sunday, August 10, 2014 – 4pm-9pm
Sunday, October 12, 2014 – 1pm-6pm
