From 11am to 2pm, Barone Meatball, Carolina Brewing Company Ambrewlance, Deli-icious, Dump Pho King Truck, and The Parlour will be at the housing development.

Komen Race for Cure Food Truck Rodeo (Meredith College)
Sweet Traditions by LeAne confirmed they will be there, but I could not find information on the rodeo itself. All this week Sweet Traditions has been selling the Pink Velvet cupcake to support the cause. If you need a visual, check out their Facebook Post below. Details on this Saturday’s race can be found here.
Update! Triangle Explorer had information on the truck line-up: Snowie of North Carolina, Pelicans Snoballs, Humble Pig, STUFT, Sweet Traditions by LeAne, Belgian Waffology, Dusty Donuts, Jams Soft Serve Ice Cream, and Baton Rouge Cuisine.
Activate 14: Community Engagement + Placemaking (14 East Peace Street, Raleigh)
AIA North Carolina is hosting an event that focuses on design-based solutions for challenges facing North Carolina cities. The big draw for this event is KoKyu will leave it’s nest in Durham at Geer and Rigsbee. Also, in attendance will be a Jubala Coffee cart (a local favorite in Lafayetteville Village) and Big Boss Brewery. The rarity of KoKyu’s appearance and Jubala has earned the honor of Triangle Explorer‘s Weekend Pick. Also, if you are a fan of coffee, you may want to check out Exploring Coffee.
Sub Noir Brewing Birthday Party (2039 Progress Ct, Raleigh)
Sub Noir is celebrating its first year with a food truck line-up. Paul Prause, NC beer and food truck fan, provide some details on the schedule. Urban Entrees is scheduled 12 to 4 pm, Not Just Icing from 2 to 6 pm, and Dump Pho King Truck from 4:30 to 8 pm. The brewery will be open from 12 to 8 pm.
For details on Sub Noir, check out their website and Twitter.
Sunday, June 15th
Durham Father’s Day Food Truck Rodeo (Durham Central Park)
Another great Sunday rodeo! This rodeo is at Durham Central Park and occupies the same spot as the Saturday Hunt Street Art Market and Farmers Market. There will be 50 trucks and live music by the Jerry Wiley Band. The event is from 12 to 4pm. I recommend getting there early and bringing a chair.
Next week…
And I’m a little upset I’m going to miss out on a few events the following weekend (June 19-22), too. The problem with taking vacation during the season.
On June 19th, Baguettaboutit and Koniana is hosting the RTP Rodeo at the Cafe Location on Miami Blvd and Alexander (2945 S. Miami Blvd) from 5 to 7:3pm. The food truck line-up includes Belgian Waffology, Captain Ponchos, Gussy’s Greek Truck, Sarges Chef on Wheels, and Sweet Traditions by LeAne.
NC Food Rodeo is hosting a rodeo on 6/22 in Downtown Greensboro (120 Barnhardt Street, Greensboro, NC), which has Urban Street Grill (cash only truck), Great Escape, Bandito Truck, F’N Wings, Chez Moi, Lee’s Kitchen, and Hibachi Xpress.
Also on Sunday, June 22nd, Tailgater Toby is catering for Hard Knocks’ Summer Block Party. Hard Knocks looks to me like a lot of fun focusing on something like laser tag, but “on steroids.” The location is 3501 Spring Forest Road in Raleigh.
Also, Ornamentea is hosting their 4th Sunday Pop-Up Sunday. This month’s charity is The Green Chair Project.
Lastly, probably the best news is the Chatham Street Chowdown in Cary. The line-up is pretty solid with American Meltdown, Baguettaboutit, Baton Rouge Cuisine, Big Mike’s BBQ, Chai’s Global Street Food, Deli-icious, Dusty Donuts, Gussy’s Greek Truck, La Farm Bakery, Olio and Aceto, Philly’s Cheesesteaks, Sol Tacos, Stuft, The Freezing Pointe, and The Humble Pig. Chatham Hill Winery and Fortnight Brewing will serve their tasty beverages as well for the event. The event will be from 12 to 4pm.
Favorite Food Truck Poll
Now, I’ve been hesitant to do this, but I figured let’s swing for the fences. Each week on the weekend post, I am going to add this poll: Favorite Food Truck. Honestly, I don’t like this question, because I love all trucks. Though, I thought it would be cool to gather some data to see those that have a favorite to vote on theirs. Now, Poll Daddy doesn’t allow you to create a blank poll, which I prefer. So in honor of the Best of the Triangle 2014 winner and finalists from Indy Week, I decided to use that as my base. If these are not your favorites, there is a blank answer to fill your own. Name or Twitter handle will suffice and don’t worry the results are hidden, so don’t give into peer pressure. Enjoy!
