Weekend Food Truck Events: June 26-29

Another weekend… time to hit some food trucks.

Little housekeeping items… 1) I am thinking of breaking this up into four separate posts next time (one for each day) and 2) Favorite Food Truck Poll will be all month for July and on a separate post.  For the frequent readers, you’ll notice new trucks on the poll.  I’m hoping this last weekend will help add a few more.

Thursday, June 26th

Oak City 7

First question, do you remember “The Way?” You know the song, where the roads were paved with gold and that cool guitar solo.  Well, guess who’s coming for food truck dinner at Oak City 7.  Wait for it – Fastball.  Fastball is headlining this week’s free concert in Downtown Raleigh (City Plaza/Fayetteville Street).

Music: Youma, Morgan Myles, Adam Pitts & The Pseudo Cowboys, JKutchma & The Five Fifths, and Fastball.

Food Trucks: Baguetteaboutit, The Humble Pig, Tar Heel Creamery, Sweetwater Ices, House of Swank, The Record Crate, Oak City Collective, Chirba Chirba, Pie Pushers, Not Just Icing, and Hibachi Xpress.

Northgate Park Rodeo

Every fourth Thursday Northgate Park has a rodeo with food trucks.  So far I know that Will and Pops will be there.  The park is west of Roxboro Street on W Club Blvd or east of N Duke Street.

Southern Village Food Truck Rodeo (650 Market St Chapel Hill, NC)

The Southern Village in Chapel Hill is having a food truck rodeo on the Green.  So far I have seen Dump Pho King Truck, MaMa Duke’s, Captain Ponchos, Parlez-Vous Crepe, Belgian Waffology, and Gussy’s Greek mentioning they will be there.

Hanu Food Truck

I got word that Hanu Food Truck will be at The Bar on Rigsbee (711 Rigsbee Ave) tonight.  If you are in the area, I’d try it out and check out their Twitter (@hanutruck).

Friday, June 27th

RTP Rodeo

As always, the RTP Rodeo at 800 Park Offices is always a hit.  Warning! Next Friday is July 4th and there will not be one.  So order twice as much.

Pittsboro Food Truck Rodeo

I’ve been the first Sunday and it will be interesting to see an evening rodeo in Pittsboro.  So far I’ve seen: Tailgater Toby, Sol Tacos, Gussy’s Greek Truck, and Belgian Waffology listed.

Looks like a new food truck, Green Olive Deli, is going to be at Lucky B’s this Saturday.  Not much details are out there. Thanks to Triangle Explorer for discovering this one.  Details on them can be found at their Facebook Page.

Southern Wake Beer Dinner

I mentioned this earlier this week, but if you are interested in pairing 6 different breweries and Big Mike’s BBQ, you may want to head down to Ninja Cow Farm.  A portion of the proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry.  For details, see the earlier post.

I haven’t heard or seen anything other than the brewery stops….
