What RU doing? This Weekend

Here are some food trucks events going on this weekend.

I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t keep a good list of what is going on this weekend.  It is because I am attending ROAM Mobile Food Conference.  It is an industry conference where anyone interested in food trucks come to discuss the hot topics, what is going on in the industry, and for some how to get into the industry.  I’ll tweet and post updates, so please follow me @RUWandering or my Facebook Page.

But, if I was here… here are some events I’m interested in.

Wake Forest Food Truck Rodeo

WF_1109

The line-up includes: Virgil’s Jamaican, Gussy’s, Backyard Bistro, Pie Pushers, Chirba Chirba, Tailgater Toby, Chick-N-Que, Hibachi Xpress, AmigoSan, Captain Ponchos, Sarge’s, Kona Ice, Lumpy’s Ice Cream, Dusty’s Donuts, Jay’s Italian Ice, Sweet Traditions, Lady bugs’ Treats, Not Just Icing, Jam Ice Cream, Well Bean Coffee, and Fahsyrah’s Lemonade.  That’s 21 trucks, not including vendors like House of Swank.  This event was very popular and was packed within the first 15 minutes.

The event address is 406 S. Brooks Street, Wake Forest from 12-5pm Sunday.

International Stout Day at Gizmo Brew Works

Bryan, one of the owners at Gizmo Brew Works, told me about this event while I was at the Halloween Party there. Three batches have been made by the brewer, the bartender, and him and everyone will do a blind taste test.  The winning brew will get to be put on the mainline, so there is something at stake.  Event proceeds will go to Best Friend Pet Adoption.

From the food truck side, KoKyu and Not Just Icing will be there serving food.  Gizmo Brew Works is located at 5907 Triangle Drive. The event is Saturday .

Much A Do About Cheese

Where might you find Steve Urkel? (Okay I just showed my age, I think) Probably at the North Carolina Cheese Festival going on at the Cotton Room in Durham.  The event is hosted by the Cheesiest people I know, American Meltdown.  The Vendor list has  Weaver Street Markets (Cheese Department), Whole Foods Raleigh (Cheese Department), Goat Lady Dairy, Piemonte Farm, Prodigal Farm, Chapel Hill Creamery, Six Forks Cheese Shop, Guglhupf Bakery, Once upon a Meadow Farm, Paradox Farm Creamery, Durham Cooperative Market, NC Department of Agriculture.  Both American Meltdown and Porchetta will serve it up there.

The event is from 1 to 4pm Sunday at The Cotton Room, 807 East Main Street, Durham.

Of course, you can check out the Thursty’s post for a list of what trucks are where.
