Arepa Culture

This truck has a regular spot at 7105 Glenwood Avenue.  Before you make plans, check their NEW Twitter handle, @arepaculturenc, Facebook, and Instagram @arepaculturenc.  The truck is ran by an awesome couple bringing Latin American flavors.  Right now the menu serves up arepas made with fresh, high quality ingredients, quesillos and cheesecake, and Malta (a non-alcoholic malt beverage popular in Latin America.)  There is a lot of corn on the truck, so Gluten-Free and Vegetarian options are available.

Big C’s Waffles

This food truck is currently traveling between Durham and Raleigh serving up the new Southern Tradition, Chicken and Waffles.  The waffles can be customized to different flavors like Red Velvet, Donut, and Pecan.  All can be topped with Chicken or you can add eggs and such.  Big C is more active on Facebook and Instagram, but you can follow them @bigcwaffles.

BullCity Street Grill

If you are in the Durham area, look for them on Twitter, @bullcitystfood.  Each week the food truck specializes a new cuisine, which include French Bistro, Italian, and Argentinean.  Usually on Friday or Saturday they park at Bull City Ciderworks and use the local cider in their menu.  I enjoy chicken tacos and wings using Rhiz Up, Bull City’s ginger cider.  The truck is owned by Chef Harry Monds, is known in the Durham restaurant and catering scene.  You can also find more information on their Facebook page.

Cock-a-Doodle Moo

Cajun Persuasion

I missed an opportunity with this one at the Gouge Wrestling event in November at Raleigh Brewing Company. Based on what I have found, they are serving tacos and gumbo and has a connection with Jerry Stackhouse!  I’ll keep my eyes out, but you can catch them by following their Twitter handle @geraldgera12.

Crazy G’s

This food truck is based in Fuquay-Varina, but it looks like they do events down in Dunn, Big Daddy’s Roadhouse, and other spots in that area. However, they did make an appearance at Draft Line in December. Their cuisine revolves around Stuffers, Authentic German Sausages, and hot dogs. I was enjoying the holidays on their appearance at Draft Line, so I missed out on an opportunity. However, you may want to check out their website. Czech This Out

A unique truck hitting the scene featuring Czech cuisine.  Had an opportunity to try this multiple times and the food is delicious.  NHL fans may want to follow this truck as NHL Players have been spotted at the truck.  Follow them @Czechfoodtruck.  Lately, they have been at WRAL Soccer Park in North Raleigh.

King’s Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks

The Triangle new Philly Cheesesteak truck the focuses on the authentic Philly experience.  The husband and wife team are Philly-natives that are bringing the taste they loved from their hometown.  While Philly Cheesesteaks are their focus,  they will hopefully bring the Pork Roll and Pork Sandwich to the Triangle.  They are very active on Facebook, so be sure to like their page and they are on Twitter @KingsPhilly.

OMG Chicken

Glad to see more breadth coming to the food truck scene.  OMG Chicken is a Western African (Senegalese to be exact) truck that is posting a few spots @omgchicken101 and Facebook.

Pizza Addiction

A popular mobile food model I’ve seen is the wood fire pizza cart.  The Triangle has one now with Pizza Addiction.  They have been doing catering events, though I am not sure if lunch spots are coming.  Looking forward to seeing this cart take flight.  Follow them @_PizzaAddiction and Facebook.  Shout out to Paul Prause (@paprause).

Rolling Bistro

This sandwich and entree truck comes with experience from New York, Florida, and the West Coast.  Both guys on the truck are named Dave, which makes remembering names easy. The menu seems pretty diverse from a slow roasted pork sandwich, mac-and-cheese bites, and shrimp and grits. They have been seen at the House of Hops and Nickelpoint Brewing, but they are slowly rolling out to a more complete schedule.

SoomSoom Pita Pockets

After Anthony of Baton Rouge Cuisine, Oren has to be the tallest food truck owner in the area.  Extremely nice and very talented, the food here is outstanding.  The focus seems to be on fresh taste with an open kitchen concept.  I am not familiar with Isreali cuisine, but the hummus and beef ragu had lots of flavor. I’ve been catching them at Hunt Street Market in Durham on Saturdays.  They also routinely show up at Cocoa Cinnamon. Follow them @SoomsoomPita and Facebook to catch them at their next stop.

Southern Spice

A new truck highlighting seafood, beef, turkey, and chicken. Right now, they are on Rigsbee and Corporation testing their menu. Their goal to have your palate travel the world. Follow them on Twitter @southernspicenc and Facebook.

Ty’s All Natural

Thanks to Paul Prause (@paprause) for the heads up and photo on a new food truck hitting the streets.  Ty’s All Natural was recently spotted at Imperial Center for a Friday food truck shift.  Based on the description it looks like they are serving up Farm to Fork (… actually Truck!).  Start following them on Twitter @TysAllNatural or their Facebook.

Cousins Lobster Truck

If the name sounds familiar, it is the food truck famous from Shark Tank.  Yes, Cousins will have its claws on Raleigh some time in the first half 2015.  We’ll get details as they come out, but right now we have a Twitter handle @CMLobsterRAL.

Little Mama’s Truck

H/T to Triangle Explorer for finding this truck.  The truck is now on Twitter (@YumLittleMamas), but also has a Facebook and Instagram profile.  The truck shows a base in Hillsborough, so maybe a far west Triangle coffee truck. Keeping it on my radar and will post updates as I find them.

Hao About Chinese / Hao’s Kitchen

Looks like the name behind Hao’s About Chinese recently secured a trailer and getting ready to setup a mobile food truck business.  This is still very new in the phase, but wanted to alert those looking at Chinese cuisine in the area.

Lumpy’s Ice Cream

The Wake Forest ice cream shop is looking to operate its first mobile scoop shop truck in the next few months! Currently they have their shop in Wake Forest and four ice cream carts.  You can follow them @LUMPYS_ICECREAM or Facebook.

Matzah Mia

New Jewish-Italian food truck serving up Hebrew National hot dogs, sandwiches, and entrees. The menu is not Kosher, however, they will cater for Kosher events. More details on the menu can be found at their website. Start following them @matzahmia.

Rogue Tako

This truck had a soft opening back in November, however, they are preparing for a full rollout in 2015.  Their menu consists of traditional tacos, Asian taco, Kimchi taco, chips, and grilled corn.  You can follow them @RogueTakoNC, Facebook, and Twitter.

Saltbox Seafood

The popular seafood “shack” in Durham is going mobile.  The truck’s pictures were posted recently, but have not seen locations posted.  If you are not already following Saltbox Seafood Joint, follow @SaltboxSeafood and Facebook.

Wanderin’ Wings

Dan Gregory, a land surveyor by day, food obsessed by night, is raising funds to bring a wing truck to the Raleigh-Durham area.  Based on their website, they are raising money and have found a truck.  We’ll keep posted, but if you are craving a wing truck start following @WanderinWings, Facebook, and check out their website.
