May 8th: Weekend Food Truck Update

Food Trucks and the weekend?  Here’s what’s going on…

Breweries and Food Trucks that should be on your radar

This Saturday (May 9th) Sōl Tacos is coming out of hibernation for a special engagement at Bombshell Brewing Holly Springs.  Chef Schaumann will be there with some of the customer favorites.  If the local beer and delicious tacos were not enough, Trapfire Bros will be there performing.

On Saturday, Belgian Waffology will be at Cocoa Cinammon for breakfast until 10 am.  If you are a late riser like me, head over to Bull City Ciderworks (a place the Mrs enjoys, too) for a waffle and delicious cider.

Friday Night Activities

If you need a new place or perhaps live at Camden Lake Pine Apartments, they are kicking off “Food Truck Fridays” this Friday.  Their first food truck, the delicious and creative Bam Pow Chow.

Also, as mentioned yesterday Big C’s waffles will be at Northgate Mall in Durham for the Blues on The Plaza.  The event is rain or shine.

Hanu at Sub Noir

Trucks probably not on your radar

Hanu will be at Sub Noir on Friday.  Chef Patrick with Hanu does some creative Asian/Korean inspired food that will knock your taste buds.  With Sub Noir’s beers and Hanu’s food, it is a creativity overload.  If you enjoy the beer, ask about Sub Noir’s bottle club membership (I’m a member).  Update: Hanu will not be at Sub Noir (cancelled)

OMG Chicken will make a debut appearance at Gizmo Brew works.  OMG Chicken specializes in Sengealese cuisine, which Chef Ismael does a great job putting heat in his food.  Good think Gizmo has some great beers to extinguish the heat.

Bang Bang Bahn Mi-1

Say Goodbye

Bang Bang Banh Mi will take its final bow on Saturday for the Hunt Street Market in Durham.  As Farmers Market season is starting to pick-up, this is a great time to taste the delicious Vietnamese, Gluten-Free cuisine for one last time.  I will miss them, as I know other food trucks will, too.

Other Markets

Also, on Saturday is the Saturday Market at Rebus Works in Raleigh.  Scheduled to be there will be Thai Street, as well as, other local vendors and the LoMoMarket.

Flora & Food Trucks Poster 2015

Also, Fairview Greenhouses and Garden Center continues their Flora and Food Trucks series.  On the schedule is The All American and JAM Ice Cream.
