Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation and The Melanoma Research Alliance presents “Taste for a Cure Chef’s Gala”
The Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation (PDMMF) and the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) will host the inaugural “Taste for a Cure Chef’s Gala” to benefit melanoma research and awareness on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Carlee Farm in Oxford, NC.
This sold out, farm‐to‐table event features courses from six, top Triangle‐area chefs and keynote speaker Joanne P. McCallie, head coach of the Duke Women’s Basketball Program – a three‐time survivor of melanoma.
Participating chefs include:

- Geoff Seelen ‐‐ Farmer and Chef, Piedmont Biofarm
- Evan Sheridan ‐‐ Pastry Chef, Herons
The event’s net proceeds will go to MRA, which has provided more than $67 million in research grants worldwide, which includes Duke University and University of North Carolina.
Facts about Melanoma
Each year in the United States, nearly 5 million people are treated for all skin cancers combined. Melanoma is responsible for the most deaths of all skin cancers, with nearly 9,000 people dying from it each year.
The event is sold out, how can I help?
You can donate to PDMMF, which is a non-profit organization that funds research, raises awareness and educates about melanoma.
