May 9-11: Food Truck Events

What’s coming up this weekend in the world of food trucks…

With two great weekends of Brewgaloo, Out! Raleigh, Gizmo Brew Works Birthday, and the first Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo, this weekend feels light.  Might be time to change that Honey Didn’t to Honey Did list.

RTP Rodeo

If you haven’t made Friday lunch plans, the RTP has it’s weekly Friday Rodeo at 800 Park Offices Drive.  The line-up changes up weekly, but usually has 4-5 trucks.

Hunt Street Market / Art Market at Vega Metals

Saturday morning on Hunt Street, perpendicular to the Farmers Market, is a line-up of trucks and an artisan market at Vega Metals.  The trucks are there from 8:30 to 12:30 PM.  Some trucks have a rare breakfast menu here.

Third Eye Blind at Lincoln Theatre

I’ve been known to wander into a Third Eye Blind show.  Saw them open for the Stones in Miami and introduce their second album, Blue, at Calder Race Track.  Similar to that second show, Lincoln Theatre seems like an intimate venue that music fans will enjoy.  And food trucks fans will enjoy Pie Pushers and Porchetta at this show, too!  Tickets are $25 in advance / $30 at the door.

Did you miss these guys at the last Rodeo?

I noticed these trucks had long lines.  Mac-UR-Roni will be at Deep River Brewing (bike ride?) on Saturday, Sol Tacos will be at Bombshell Brewing on Friday, Chirba Chirba will be at the aforementioned Friday RTP Rodeo, and Belgian Waffology will do lunch at 4601 Six Forks Road.

Rebus Brunch

On the Second Saturday of every month, Rebus Works organizes a brunch from 10:30 to 12:00.  The food will be provided by Captain Ponchos and Mariachi Los Galleros de Mexico will provided the music.  This is a ticketed event, so be sure to click on the link.  ill have Captain Ponchos and a mariachi band serve

Cocoa Cinnamon and Pie Pushers Brunch

Triangle Explorer tipped me on this event.  On Sunday, Pie Pushers will be there from 11:00 to 4:00 PM.  If you wanted excellent coffee and pizza – actually in my opinion, extraordinary coffee and pizza – you might want to make it out there.  I enjoy both establishments, so this event is interesting to me.

Upcoming Philanthropic Events?

Food Trucks: Are you doing an event at or for a charity?  One thing I want to focus on for myself and the industry is the commitment back into the community. I have seen it in action, however, I would like really highlight this here.  Please comment below or email art at the blog’s address to let me know.

Upcoming Mid-Week Events worth noting…

Also, I wanted to note that May 13th is the 3rd Anniversary for the Big Boss Run Club.  Deli-icious will be there, as well as, Dump Pho King Truck and Iced Cupcakes.

On May 14th, the Durham Bulls will have their first of two Food Truck Fest.  From what I could find American Meltdown, Baguettaboutit, The Humble Pig, and Porchetta.  Tickets can be found here.
