The Wheels and Mortar series will focus on trucks that have a brick-and-mortar presence. As trucks develop new strategies that incorporate buildings in addition to their mobile locations, this series will focus on those more permanent/less-mobile strategies. This segment looks at Sweet Traditions, a food truck recognized by delivering its baked goods in their mobile trailer, Belle.
One of the most active dessert trucks in the Triangle has been Sweet Traditions. Not only have they operated Belle, their mobile cupcake shop, they have been active in stand-alone/building locations.
Earlier this year they set up a kiosk in the Triangle Town Center Mall, which seemed like a possible long-term location. However, those that follow Sweet Traditions, know they are not just about cupcakes. They are well known for their decorative cakes and other baked goodies. So the Sweetness Warriors, Sweet Traditions fans, had a feeling the kiosk was just a temporary, short-term plan.
And in Fall when the announcement came across that Belle (Sweet Traditions mobile trailer) would have a brick mortar sibling, it was no surprise. The location is in Wake Forest on US 1 / Capital Blvd just passed Business NC 98 in the Kohl’s, Lowe’s Foods Shopping Center (Wake Forest Crossing).

Besides your favorite cupcake flavors and whoopies you can find on Belle, you can also order cakes and grab special store-only treats. Also inside Sweet Traditions, you will find Wake Forest roaster, Well Bean.
And for those that are Belle fans, you can still find her out on the road.
