2015 Chinese New Year Festival – Raleigh, NC

On Saturday, January 31st, the Triangle Area Chinese American Society (TACAS) hosts the 2015 Chinese New Year Festival at Dorton Arena on the State Fairgrounds.

Wandering in Portland
For a visitor to cover Portland, my assumption, it would take an annual lease, a bicycle, and an elastic stomach. Portland is well known as a hot spot for their food carts. While many cities have spots, breweries, or festivals as known spots, Portland has their food carts organized in pods. Some of these pods are a hodgepodge of vendors, but some have actually organized themselves in some sort of category.
Wheels and Mortar: Big Mike’s Brew N Que
The Wheels and Mortar series will focus on trucks that have a brick-and-mortar presence. As trucks develop new strategies that incorporate buildings in addition to their mobile locations, this series will focus on those more permanent/less-mobile strategies. This segment looks at Big Mike’s BBQ craft beer store and BBQ Joint, Big Mike’s Brew N Cue.
Wheels and Mortar: Bikini Bus
The Wheels and Mortar series will focus on trucks that have a brick-and-mortar presence. As trucks develop new strategies that incorporate buildings in addition to their mobile locations, this series will focus on those more permanent/less-mobile strategies. This segment looks at Bikini Bus, a fashion truck recognized by the stylish bus.
